“My mother owned a store about 30 years ago — I am in the same exact store she was in,” Lucibello said.

Lucibello always had an eye for style and fashion. She went to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and worked in retail most of her life.

When her sister decided to sell her store in Dumont, Lucibello jumped at the chance.

“This was something I always wanted to do,” she said. “I’ve always worked in large department stores as management, but now I can be my own boss.”

She took over the store for a few years before moving to Cresskill in February.

“I grew up in Cresskill and live in Cresskill now,” Lucibello said. “There was definitely a need for this kind of shop in the area.”

Along with changing locations, Lucibello changed the store’s name and added new types of merchandise.

“The original store was more of a sweet shop offering more candy, chocolate,” Lucibello said. “This is more of a gifts shop for everyone. We have stuff for the house, jewelry, accessories."This summer we started selling gelato, too.”

Lucibello prides herself in philanthropy.

“I like to carry merchandise that has a cause,” she said. “A lot of stuff, like the bracelets, give to certain charities and candles give to dog rescues. And I get a lot of my merchandise from local jewelry designers. I like to keep it local and give back.”
